Waveport

Waveport is the capital city of Astrolath. It was one of the first cities to be settled after the Great Migration. It quickly flourished when trade with overseas nations began.

Waveport is the most developed city in Astrolath (as far as its citizens know), with a dense population and various neighborhoods. One of the most significant neighborhoods is the White Square, a gated community in the the southeast of the city, where only the richest live. They have isolated themselves from the rest of Waveport's population, whom they believe to be "filthy".

The docks are where much of Waveport's activity takes place, where merchants from all over the still unknown world bring goods to trade at the Market District's green tents. The Buried Keep was an underground vault built around the founding of the city to hold the city's riches. When the city walls were built, the Keep became a bank of sorts, where the richest leave their money for safekeeping. It is often said that dragons guard the gold down below, and any burglar would be foolish to attempt a robbery.

Next to the Buried Keep is the home of the city's jarl, Yaern. Yaern's home is a small castle with secret passages into the city walls, built to facilitate the jarl's escape during a violent conflict. The Shipwright's Shops in the northeast of the city are where many citizens work, building Waveport's legendary galleons.

Waveport's central well is the hub around which the city was built, owing to the city's worship of the Gods Below. Every day, Waveport citizens make offerings to the well in hopes of some good fortune.
